In this paper two techniques, dual reciprocity method (DRM) and direct integral method (DIM), are developed to transform domain integrals to boundary integrals for shear deformable plate bending formulation. The force term is approximated by a set of radial basis functions. To transform domain integrals to boundary integrals using the dual reciprocity method, particular solutions are employed for three radial basis functions. Direct integral method is also introduced in this paper to evaluate domain integrals. Three examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of the two methods. The numerical results obtained by using different particular solutions are compared with exact solutions. Received 27 January 1999  相似文献

This paper presents an extension of the dual boundary element method to analysis of crack growth in plates loaded in combine bending and tension. Five stress intensity factors, two for membrane behaviour and three for shear deformable plate bending are computed using the J-Integral technique. Crack growth processes are simulated with an incremental crack extension analysis based on the maximum principal stress criterion. The method is considered effective since no remeshing is required and the crack extension is modelled by adding new boundary elements to the previous crack boundaries. Several incremental crack growth analysis for different configurations and loadings are presented.  相似文献

A new strategy for the synthesis of thiolated carboxymethyl chitosan-g-cyclodextrin nanoparticles by an ionic-gelation method is presented. The synthetic approach was based on the utilization of 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate during cyclodextrin grafting onto carboxymethyl chitosan. The use of the 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate resulted in reactions between cyclodextrin and active sites at the C6-position of chitosan, and preserved amino groups of chitosan for subsequent reactions with thioglycolic acid, as the thiolating agent, and tripolyphosphate, as the gelling counterion. Various methods such as scanning electron microscopy, rheology and in vitro release studies were employed to exhibit significant features of the nanoparticles for mucosal albendazole delivery applications. It was found that the thiolated carboxymethyl chitosan-g-cyclodextrin nanoparticles prepared using an aqueous solution containing 1 wt% of tripolyphosphate and having 115.65 (μmol/g polymer) of grafted thiol groups show both the highest mucoadhesive properties and the highest albendazole entrapment efficiency. The latter was confirmed theoretically by calculating the enthalpy of mixing of albendazole in the above thiolated chitosan polymer.  相似文献

In this work a multi-region boundary element formulation for linear local buckling analysis of assembled plate and shallow shell structures is presented. The assembly is divided into sub-regions. In each sub-region, the formulation is formed by coupling boundary element formulations of shear deformable plate bending and two-dimensional plane stress elasticity. Domain integrals appearing in the formulation (due to the curvature and due to the domain load) are transformed into equivalent boundary integrals. Membrane stresses at discrete domain points of each sub-region (plate or shallow shell) in the assembly are obtained from the prebuckling state, resulting in a set of linear buckling equations in terms of the buckling deflection and the buckling load factor. Buckling equation is presented as a standard eigenvalue problem. Results are compared with FEM solutions and it is shown that good accuracy can be achieved with the present multi-region BEM formulation.  相似文献

The determination of the dynamic contact angle is of significant interest for the characterization of the wettability of technical fibers and textiles in diverse fields of science and technology. There exist traditional methods for dynamic contact angle measurements of flat surfaces and of fibers with a uniform cross-sectional shape along the fiber. So far, however, no method has been reported which is suitable for structured fibers, particularly for spindle-knotted structured fibers of varying cross-sections. This article describes a new method for measuring the dynamic contact angle for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) spindle-knotted structured fibers. The method is an outcome of integrating the results obtained from experiments (applying force tensiometry) and a proposed theoretical model describing such fibers. The reliability and conformity of the results are shown by comparing the measured dynamic contacts angle of PDMS as spindle-knot and as a flat surface. This method may pave the road for better wettability analysis of various structured fibers. It also allows to measure the local receding and advancing contact angles for macroscopic/microscopic structured fibers (especially when they are not accessible as flat surfaces) against the various test liquids.  相似文献

In this study, a hybrid coating comprised of NiCoCrAlY fabricated by HVOF method, Ni–CeO2 composite coated by electrodeposition, and aluminide coating applied by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) method are investigated. To elucidate the formation process of aluminide coating, the microstructure and properties of the applied coatings were examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and EDS analyses. It was concluded that the desired β-NiAl phases are uniformly created within a single step on the surface. Furthermore, with the extending of the coating duration from 2 to 4 h, the thickness of the aluminide coating was increased from 14 to 25 μm. The thickness values were increased even further in the presence of Ni–CeO2 coating, where the growth mechanism was also changed. Within 4 h, a coating with a thickness of roughly 50 μm was obtained. Moreover, in the presence of Ni–CeO2 coating, it was observed that the inward diffusion of aluminum was predominant at the beginning of the process, whereas with longer processing durations, the outward diffusion of the nickel becomes dominant instead.  相似文献

In this paper a boundary element formulation for analysis of shear deformable stiffened cracked plates is presented. By coupling boundary element formulation of shear deformable plate and two dimensional plane stress elasticity, dual boundary integral equations are presented. The interaction forces between stiffeners and the plate are treated as line distributed body forces along the attachment. Both concentric and eccentric stiffeners have been considered. Rectangular stiffened plate containing a single crack and double cracks subjected to uniform distributed moment on the crack surface and uniform shear load on the plate are analysed by the proposed method. Good agreement has been achieved compared with analytical solutions.  相似文献
